Recently Rated Domaine du Pégaü Wines
Along with her regular red Cuvée Réservée, Laurence Féraud makes two higher-tier, smaller-production cuvées (though never in the same vintage) and a white from Châteauneuf-du-Pape under the Domaine du Pégaü name. She also makes other wines—including Châteauneuf, Gigondas, Côtes du Rhône and a vin de table blend of Pégaü fruit with other grapes—under the Sélection Laurence Féraud line. Here are recent ratings of her Pégaü Châteauneufs.
Domaine du Pégaü Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée da Capo 2010
Score: 98 points
Release Price: $500
Heady and loaded, but defined, with stunning depth and intensity to the pastis-soaked plum, blackberry and cherry fruit flavors, lined with brick dust, baker’s chocolate, espresso and smoldering tobacco. Long and tarry through the finish, but lush and alluring at the same time. A backdrop of chestnut and cedar adds even more range and character. A huge wine with amazing balance. This shows an enticing bay leaf note, with juicy blackberry and black currant fruit up front, followed by melted licorice and a tarry edge on the finish, underscored by a roasted alder accent. This has the friendly, racy fruit of the vintage, with some distinct character to boot. Best from 2014 through 2025. 6,500 cases made.—JM
